“You are a perfectly imperfect human being, like everyone else.” -Shirzad Chamine
I don’t know about you, but I’ve struggled being a perfect human being for as long as I can remember. Always trying to make sure everyone around me is happy so that I can be happy. Living every moment of my life “perfect” so that I don’t disappoint anyone; including myself. The problem is, NO ONE IS PERFECT! And living life for others happiness?!?!?! Ummm….
What I’ve been learning to accept lately is that the only person you need to make happy is you. You can’t spend your life pleasing other people. That doesn’t give you the life you want and deserve. You are in charge of what kind of life you’re going to live. So take charge of it! Get up in the mornings and do something you want to do. Meditate, go for a walk…whatever it is that you want to do, DO IT! Live the life you want and how you want to live it. If it makes you happy, it doesn’t matter what everyone else thinks.
No one is perfect, but you can love and accept who you are and all of your imperfections. The journey of loving yourself is definitely not easy. I’ve been trying to break all the bad thoughts and habits that I’ve grown accustomed to my whole life. But it is so worth it. Because the minute you stop trying to be perfect and realize that you are amazing just how you are, your entire world changes.
We all have something to offer in this world. Each and every single one of us is special and unique, from the way we look to the way we think and feel. The world is lucky to have us in it. Be happy for every breath you take, every sunrise and sunset you see, every minute you have with your loved ones. Be happy for the body you were given. When you love how you look, flaws and all, this greater sense of happiness and love flows through you. And be happy that you were given this incredible life and live it to the fullest.
Love yourself. You are perfectly you.
